today i visited Stern Grove and Pine Lake Park, kind of for the first time. i went to a Stern Grove Festival concert forever ago. and it was crowded. so crowded i don’t even remember the space. just a sea of people. there’s a Trocadero Inn there! it used to be a roadhouse at the turn of the century! and the amphitheatre is beautiful! i confess i had to suppress crying when i walked past the empty stage. Pine Lake Park is actually lovely, as well! a stump at the edge of the lake turns out to be one of my favorite spots in all of SF. it’s where i took the panorama of the lake. a charming new-to-me spot. highlights include everything but the dog run lawn inbetween the lake and the grove.
