today i went up and down Whiskey Hill to check on the bizarre pupa encountered on our last field trip near Sharon Studio. no change, but i found TONS MORE IN VARIOUS COLORS! i saw so many insect creatures today. does this mean it’s truly Summer, or what? cruised by the Lily Pond, and the pond was covered in algae. it looked so sad and uninviting (and if i were running GGPark, that’d never happen!), but the return of the Great Blue Heron of the Lily Pond was a welcome sight. also spotted a spider (Orbweaver?) not entirely a tiny speck, which was exciting. and, finally, i thought i’d see if i could spot any of the Great Horned Owls of the Lily Pond, as i had heard reports that they were no longer in their spot amongst the Coast Live Oaks. turns out all three were just in one tree to the right of where they were last. so, all is well in the East (of GGPark)!
