R: TWO OWLETS!
Today I went out for my biweeklyish Owl Nest Monitoring in The Presidio.
And I can confirm that the Barnard GHOs have at least TWO OWLETS! There could be a third down in there, but all I saw was the two. And I got to enjoy having one of them imprint staring at me for some time. Love getting to be at the other end of that!
Also got to indulge in watching Ma Owl preening both owlets for some time. Amazing.
Didn’t hear or see anything except perhaps a freshish bit of GHO pellet over at the YMCA GHO spot. Plus a verywellintact skull that came out of a pellet! Looking forward to seeing if my photos can give me a clue as to what rodent it is…
And some hoots from the Ecology Trail GHOs, but as usual they were too deep in the euc forest to see.
