R: Brown-eared Bulbul.
Yesterday we found Naturing Time at Ghibli Park!
During my Quest to Find Totoro while in Japan, we delighted in the created natural world between Dondoko Forest and the Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village.
Another Life Bird, the beautiful Oriental Turtle-Dove dotted around on the ground below more Brown-eared Bulbuls. One of which was gathering nest material in front of us!
And we saw some flippin’ cool insects! A large brown Beetle that casually crossed the path ahead of us, a couple GINORMOUS Appendiculate Carpenter Bees, a Hornet of some kind (?), and miraculously a Butterfly stopped to pose for me (Common Fivering).
Wish I had more time to stop and wait long enough to see ALL the newtome Butterflies. One even flew all around my face for a second on the way to Mei’s House.
But the day was about TOTORO. And I did find him. And we are now best friends. And if there was a Miyazaki iNat, I’d have added that amazeballs observation!!
