Golden Gate Park (09/13/2021)

today it was sunny, so i ventured up to Strawberry Hill. just in case i might be able to catch sight of any butterflies. and, i did! saw three separate Red Admirals during my Naturing time (easily a record for me in GGPark), and one posed kindly for me at the top of Strawberry Hill. also spotted a couple Townsend’s Warblers and a Hooded Merganser! first since last winter / early spring. so wonderful to see migrants returning. another Yellow Warbler was spotted alongside Stow Lake, which absolutely shined in the intense sunshine. felt like the first day of Indian Summer to me. ended my outdoor time by checking on the Great Horned Owls of the Lily Lond. but no owls were spotted in the owl nursery. maybe Junior has or is about to leave the building??
