today’s Naturing took place up north! before heading home from The Pelican, we stopped to finally see what this place was about (after driving along the Bolinas Lagoon, where the Harbor Seals were doing impressive yoga). we got up so high on that mountain that we were almost above the redwoods!! while “the falls” are not so spectacular in the summer, as was expected, it’s great to know what the heck this place is all about! we also got to see a Wilson’s Warbler and Pacific Slope Flycatchers, as well as being taunted by what we think was a Pileated Woodpecker we heard near the top. every time i feel like i know the North Bay pretty well, i’m taught there are still so many hidden gems to discover.
