Jack London State Historic Park (08/14/2021)

today we visited a new place. my gawd, was it hot out. but fascinating to see into the lives of these people and the wonderful Valley Oak filled land they loved. had to cut our visit short because of the heat, but we got to meet a very nice old volunteer man who gives free rides in his golf cart to all the landmarks, watch Acorn Woodpeckers and a Pacific Slope Flycatcher, and travel back in time. enjoyed a stop outdoors at the village saloon, and are soon to be enjoying Mai Tais over a game of pool on the front porch at our charming cabin, while the resident gang of Wild Turkeys cruise on by. life is good.
