today i visited North Lake in what felt like forever since i was there last. no signs of the Great Horned Owls out there. guess the two owlets are flying now! it was pretty quiet, wildlife-wise. but lots of Tree Swallows, noisy Red-winged Blackbirds, nesting American Coots, Goldenrod Crab Spider amongst the Blueblossom, a Great Blue Heron, and a Black-crowned Night Heron. IDing more trees, which is always nice. and, i ended with spotting this Cooper’s Hawk near Middle Lake. so nice to have unobstructed views of raptors when ya can!
