today was all about butterflies! i missed the Green Hairstreak Corridor event on Saturday, but i knew the locations and thought the warmest and sunniest day of the week (today) might be a good chance to catch it. and, while i didn’t, i saw two newtome butterflies! one at the top of Golden Gate Heights Park and one at the West base of Grandview Park. also saw EPIC BATTLES of many Red Admirals all over the top of GGHP. i grew dizzy watching their air dance fighting. also saw what seemed like a Pipevine Swallowtail at GP, but it was from my car and a distance away. could it have been anything else?? it was huge and black!
