today i walked up and down Whisky Hill, around Alvord Lake, and in and around and back and sideways and through the Lily Pond. it’d been a while since i’d heard or seen my owls, so i was hoping to catch them here. but i had to head back for Happy Hour, and it was still too light outside! enjoyed watching a Northern Flicker and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet (with ruby crown visible!) around the pond, though. and as i walked out of the pond area, i heard ONE HOOT. so, all is well. and i was greeted by a gorgeous sunset right as i left the south entrance, to boot!
