today i walked to Elk Glen Lake! i’ve never crossed over from one section of GGPark to another in one visit. it’s always been the East (East of 19th Ave), the Middle (between 19th Ave and the Polo Field), and the West (West of the Polo Field). saw a couple new flowers, a couple of Red-tailed Hawks, a new-to-me short side trail of Dawn Redwoods, a wild turkey high up IN A TREE (!) at the edge of Elk Glen Lake, a SWARM OF BATS swarming at the NW corner of EGL, and a very bare tree with many green buds sprinkled on its branches. we may be nearing winter, but flora continues to bloom. bonus, heard a HOOT from one of the Great Horned Owls of Strawberry Hill as i walked home on MLK along Stow Lake. i wonder if they miss me.
