today i walked the entire Oak Woodlands Trail. as i had suspected, it was pretty uneventful (nothing new flora-wise and pretty quiet bird-wise). but it’s always a nice and winding walk. i was delighted by a surprise burst of bright pink flowers at the edge of the Monarch Bear Grove, as the park continues to keep my eyes hunting for new flora even as we approach winter. a quick stop at the Lily Pond showed me a good sized group of Hooded Mergansers and Ring-necked Ducks, plus i got to hear, though not see, the Great Horned Owls of the Lily Pond on my way back. ya see some, ya don’t see some!
