today i had a very short window to go Naturing, so i visited what i call Elk Glen Lake Meadow (the small meadow across from EGL that is usually crowded with people BBQing or playing a game of some kind, but the change in seasons has changed that apparently!) as there are some lovely Fall Color trees surrounding it right now. also got to see two Black-crowned Night Herons in a brilliantly orange tree at EGL (haven’t seen two there before, neato) and caught sight of the Great Blue Heron of EGL’s silhouette right after sunset. no owls heard or seen, but i wasn’t expecting any!
