today we cruised by the Lily Pond so i could get pics of this magenta Cuphea below. and while there, not only did we see new birds on the pond (Hooded Mergansers and an American Coot), but we also saw THOSE SAME TWO GREAT HORNED OWLS FROM MONDAY!!! one was in the same tree we previously heard and saw them in. then the second one flew in and landed right near it. all while a group of ravens were harassing the heck out of them. like, getting within a foot of them. we watched this for a while, wondering if there’d be a real fight. but not much transpired before our necks couldn’t take looking up so high anymore. but, EXCITING!!
