today was apparently Rock-rose day. wandered the Monarch Bear Grove chasing a Wilson’s Warbler hanging with a bunch of Chestnut-backed Chickadees, strolled amongst the CAS’ botanical garden, then through the Shakespeare Garden, past Squirrel Central, and up to Stow Lake. no real highlights, except a new-to-me mushroom spot outside the SG. but i’m learning/observing some things: some flowering plants bloom in spring AND in summer, the wind will literally blow every single time i steady my camera to snap some flora, people will always feed the wildlife right at spots with signs in front of them telling them not to do so, and unintentionally overhearing strangers talking while naturing results in the same two topics (for those older than twentysomething) – their work (as they are often on calls) or the current state of The Covid.
