today i went to The Presidio to see if i could spot the juvenile Barn Owls that Bob and Juli tipped me off to. and, i saw THREE Barn Owls! all juveniles? the first one was sleeping under the right side. the second and third ones were under the left side, one awake and one with its back facing out. i got real lucky that the awake one backed out for a lil bit (which looked so funny) and turned its head to face out for a sec and then extended its wings before heading back in. their backs are like MAGIC CAPES. highlight was easily seeing Barn Owls in SF for my first time! and three at once!
