today was a solo walk around the chain of lakes. highlights include this Black-crowned Night Heron that flew to a nest among the reeds at North Lake where a female was, watching a mama Bewick’s Wren feeding her chicks, and coming around the bend of a small trail (see below) to temporarily feel disoriented as to where the hell i was all of a sudden! i love when that happens.
