despite the drizzle, we took our walk today and came across a small oasis (off MLK just west of 25th Ave), after being underwhelmed by the George Washington Bicentennial Grove. it’s not on the map. and once inside, you are surrounded by tropical flora. why this spot isn’t named is beyond me. lowlight was seeing a dead Allen’s Hummingbird, that appeared to have just dropped from the sky. highlights include finding this tropical spot and watching a Black-crowned Night-Heron grooming at Mallard Lake.
